Client Testimonials

MR

Mejar (B) Razlan

Retired — ATM, Kuala Lumpur

I had been receiving my LTAT pension for eleven years and assumed the amount was correct. Razif sat with me for the better part of a morning, went through my entire service file, and came back six weeks later with a finding that my pension had been under-classified at the point of retirement. The recovery claim was prepared, submitted, and the arrears were credited. I had no idea such a review was even possible.

SH

Puan Siti Hajar

Widow — Petaling Jaya, Selangor

When my husband passed, I was quite lost about what needed to be done to keep receiving the pension benefit. A family member suggested Amanah Veteran. Khairul was patient and kind throughout — he never rushed me and always checked before sending anything. The process took about two months, and he managed all the paperwork. I wish I had not waited as long as I did to make contact.

AK

ASP (B) Abdul Karim

Retired PDRM — Shah Alam

I came to Amanah Veteran not because I suspected a problem but because I genuinely did not understand the basis on which my pension was calculated. After the three advisory meetings, I had a clear written file that explained everything. Norzahra was thorough and very precise. The written advisory is something I keep on file and have referred back to more than once since then.

ZI

Zulkifli Ibrahim

Retired Civil Service — Klang

My pension calculation had always seemed lower than colleagues of the same grade who retired at a similar time. After the review, Norzahra identified two allowance categories that had been excluded from the pensionable base incorrectly. A claim was submitted and the difference was rectified. The whole matter took about three months. It was not a small amount over the years that had passed.

HN

Hjh. Noraini

Widow — Seremban, Negeri Sembilan

I travelled from Seremban to Shah Alam for the initial meeting, which was worth the trip. Khairul had prepared questions in advance and was clearly familiar with the specific nomination form requirements for my situation. He kept me informed throughout — at no point did I not know what was happening with the process. One area for improvement would be faster responses to messages, but the advisory itself was solid.

KY

Kolonel (B) Kamaruddin Yusoff

Retired ATM — Subang Jaya

I engaged Amanah Veteran specifically because I wanted an advisor who knew LTAT well rather than one who would have to research the basics. Razif's familiarity with the entitlement schedules was evident from the first meeting. The advisory file he produced was detailed and professionally presented — the kind of document I could hand to any authority with confidence. I have since recommended the firm to two colleagues.

Three Case Studies

The following accounts describe representative engagements. Details have been generalised to preserve client privacy.

Case Study 01 — Arrears Recovery

Pension Under-Classification After Early Retirement

Challenge

A retired Warrant Officer believed his pension had been calculated at the wrong grade following an early retirement — a classification he had disputed verbally with the pension authority but could not substantiate with documentation.

Solution

Amanah Veteran obtained his service record, cross-referenced the pension award letter against the applicable grade schedule, and identified a classification error at the point of retirement processing. A formal claim was prepared and submitted with supporting documentation.

Result

The arrears covering six years of under-payment were credited within four months of the claim submission. The monthly pension was corrected going forward. Duration of engagement: approximately 14 weeks.

"I had given up trying to argue the point myself. Amanah Veteran knew exactly how to frame the claim in terms the authority had to respond to."

Case Study 02 — Family Continuation

Pension Continuation for Surviving Spouse with Complex Nomination

Challenge

A widow approached the firm six weeks after her husband's passing. The original pension nomination form named a deceased parent as secondary beneficiary, creating an administrative complication with the pension authority that she could not resolve alone.

Solution

The advisor prepared a corrected nomination submission accompanied by a supporting letter of explanation. He liaised directly with the pension authority's processing unit to clarify the circumstances and expedite the administrative review, communicating with the family at their preferred pace throughout.

Result

Pension continuation was confirmed and first payment received approximately nine weeks after the engagement began. The administrative complication was resolved without formal appeal. Duration of engagement: 10 weeks.

"He never made me feel that the process was more important than my circumstances. That mattered a great deal at the time."

Case Study 03 — Veteran Advisory

Clarifying Entitlement After Regulatory Amendment

Challenge

A retired senior officer heard from fellow retirees that a regulatory amendment had increased certain pension entitlements, but could not determine whether the amendment applied to his case or whether the pension authority had already updated his payment accordingly.

Solution

Three advisory meetings were conducted. The advisor identified the specific gazette notification in question, confirmed that the client's service profile did fall within its scope, and compared the expected revised amount against what was being paid. No discrepancy was found — the authority had updated the payment correctly.

Result

The client received a written advisory file confirming that his pension was correctly calculated and explaining the basis of the amended entitlement. He left the engagement with certainty rather than continuing uncertainty. Duration: approximately 5 weeks.

"The answer was that everything was in order — and that was worth knowing. The written file means I will not have to go through the same uncertainty again."
